Garden Growers July

Soft Fruit

Ready this week - blackcurrants, whitecurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries, chuckleberries and raspberries, all PYO. I will do a map again but I should be around somewhere if you get lost.

Summer Event

Len has kindly offered to organise this, here are his thoughts so far:

"maybe we could do a wacky farm sports event welli slinging. Or a simple barbecue but have people bring some of their own garden games sets; bouls and giant jenga?โ€

It may be good to have a farm walk right around and tell the stories around a fire that make up how you got to here with the beautiful ...Swillington Organic farm๐Ÿ˜Ž"

If you have any more ideas or suggestions for dates please contact Len: lenforbes_58@yahoo.co.uk

Collection

I've changed the collection times to give me more time to harvest on Friday and also so you can collect later now: 09.30-18.00; Saturdays the same: 08.30-16.00. You can come and collect after 16.00 but I will probably have gone back to do the stock jobs and there might be less veg or PYO. Gates locked at 18.00 (ish).

Skiving off

I will be here this Saturday, but the following week it is Sam's wedding. Liz will be here, but if anything is missing sorry but it's unlikely to happen again!!

Thank you those of you who pulled out thistles last week, still a few left but it's getting better.

Summer volunteer

Next month we have a student volunteer. Louise is at Askham Bryan and wants to set up a CSA in York when she finishes.

Thank you

Jo
