We are able to offer school visits free of charge under the Natural England Educational access scheme, providing their criteria are met.
The visit can be tailored to your class needs and activities will vary depending on the time of year. If you can visit more than once in a year, to see the farm seasonally, it will improve pupil’s understanding of life on a farm.
Some of our activities:
Collecting eggs
Feeding sheep and goats
Handling wool
Visiting cows and calves
Growing fruit and veg, including practical tasks
Self-guided nature walks
The visit lasts about 2 hours but can be a full day if you want to bring a picnic and do the nature walk - there is a picnic area available.
A pre-visit by a teacher is essential and can be arranged out of school hours if necessary.
The Country Trust also organise visits to the farm.
Other types of group visits can be arranged. For details please email us.
It may also be possible to arrange a visit for your school with Liz and some of the animals from her smallholding on the farm. Contact Lizzie on 07581 855 222.
