Illuminated by lantern light and set against a back drop of the spring night’s sky, the lucky guests gathered around a rustic dining table for a banquet of Yorkshire’s finest produce – all cooked over a roaring open fire.fire-and-dine-cooking-outdoor-dining

Fire & Dine is something not to be missed by lovers of good food and the great outdoors alike. Combining fine dining with hearty home cooking and placing it amongst our ancient woodland is, in our opinion, a small stroke of genius. And the team have succeeded in creating something truly unique and memorable.Writing of the first event over on Facebook, attendee Christie said, ‘Thank you for making it a truly special evening. So glad we could be part of the first Fire & Dine, we will definitely be back! To anybody considering booking this – do it! You are in for a real treat!’Paul Robinson - The Yorkshire Gourmet - told us a little bit about how the idea came about:

'I've been cooking outdoors for years now, be it on the moors;paul_robinson_yorkshire_gourmet on the top of a mountain; or deep in the forest. I was introduced to Paul, of This Green Moon, at Swillington Farm in the autumn of 2015 and it soon became clear that we shared similar interests as fellow outdoorsmen. Mid-conversation whilst cooking over a fire, the words "off grid" were mentioned.  Two and two were put together and "off grid dining" was coined.'It became apparent that if we put together Paul's woodland events knowhow with my cooking skills, we could offer a unique dining experience right there on the farm. Throw in Swillington’s amazing organic produce – from field, to fire, to fork – and 'Fire & Dine' was born!'A year of recipe testing and trials followed in the woods – in all weathers – and here we are in spring 2017. With some warm summer nights ahead of us, we're now in a position to offer this unique and exciting dining experience to the public for the foreseeable future.'You can find The Yorkshire Gourmet on Facebook and Instagram.
