May 1st CSA day
This is our spring CSA event for all our CSA members,friends, pig sponsors and anyone who is interested in finding out more about the CSAs and the farm.
Open from 10.30-4.00 Farm walks at 11.00 and 1.30 (Headingly Pig and Fowl co-op and sheep sponsors) Why not come for the day? Chris has volunteered to BBQ so bring your own food or buy from the shop. Plenty of jobs to do in the garden.
The nature trail will be open for those of you who would like to take yourselves around at your own pace. Yorkshire wildlife Trust will have a display.
New in the Shop
Perfect Preserves
New in the shop this week Millhouse jams have made us some plum jam and crab-apple jelly using our own organic fruit, tasters available how can you resist!
Veg
Knobbly veg are back, CSA members will remember the Jerusalem artichokes from last year these misshapes are loved or loathed good for roasts and fantastic soups.
Another larger knobbly veg is celeriac this celery flavoured root can be used like a turnip grated raw in salad, mashed with potato, or as a soup on its own or with other root veg, both will be in the shop throughout December.
More veg from the walled garden; look out for kale, chard, spinach celery and cabbage all freshly harvested daily for the shop.
Office-based Buying Groups
Why not get together with colleagues and organise a buying group for your office? We can provide electronic order forms for monthly deliveries right to your workplace.
