At Swillington Organic Farm our values aren't just a marketing gimmick, we practice what we preach from always ensuring our animals are raised to the highest standards of animal welfare to ensuring our customers are just as happy by offering a quality guarantee.

We hope you share some of the same values as us and can become involved in our community.

Healthy and Organic

We produce honest food. The majority of our produce is organic and certified as such by the Organic Farmers and Growers body, this means that we uphold the highest quality standards. We believe our customers should know what's in their food so we always include the meat content on our labeling along with any added ingredients.

We have a strong relationship with our suppliers and look to source only ethically produced goods for sale in our farm shop.

Outstanding Animal Welfare Guaranteed

We're proud of our high standards of animal welfare on the farm and guarantee that all our animals are kept to the highest organic and free range standards. We organise regular farm tours and welcome pre-arranged visits throughout the year so that customers can see for themselves the happy outdoor lives our pigs, cows, sheep and poultry lead.

We believe our homegrown meat and vegetables are second to none. We always strive for the best quality, but don’t just take our word for it:

Our produce has been independently judged Best in Yorkshire for three years running by the Yorkshire Post Taste Awards.

We’ve been commended in the Organic Food Awards, appeared on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours and BBC One’s The One Show and our sausages have even been a finalist in the search for the Best British Sausage Sandwich.

Our meat has been cooked by James Martin, served in Salvo’s Restaurant(winner of Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word), sold in Harvey Nichols’ Food Court and has earned us a place as one of Rick Stein’s Food Heroes.

We're proud of everything we produce and we hope you enjoy it. However if for any reason you're not fully satisfied with the quality of our produce let us know and we'll refund or replace it.

Environmentally Friendly Agriculture

We farm organically without the use of pesticides and chemicals using traditional and natural methods. We are proud to be part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and help promote and support a wide variety of wildlife on the farm. All our meat, vegetables, eggs and dairy are produced on the farm or within Yorkshire, we use a local slaughterhouse and have a butchery and poultry slaughter facilities on site, which helps us in our commitment to reduce food miles and pollution.

Our wildlife conservation work was recently recognised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's Tye Trophy Awards in which Jo was a finalist.

Direct From The Producer

We sell what we produce direct to you the consumer. This cuts out middlemen and supermarkets, saving you money and giving you much fresher food. We believe this freshness and traceability is what is important as it promotes the connection between field and fork and builds greater links with our local community.
