Jo
In her own words:
"Farmer, grower, market trader, butcher and anything else that needs doing. Farmed, lived and worked in Swillington for over 40 years and still learning."
Kate
Our apprentice under a two year Soil Association apprentice scheme. Kate is involved in all aspects of the farm and sales, Kate also has sheep on the farm jointly owned with Jo and Kirstin.
We are looking at ways for Kate to continue her role on the farm when the apprentice scheme ends.
Kirstin
Long term volunteer responsible for setting up the veg CSA scheme, usually around on Saturdays in the garden or at a market.
Kirstin also works for the Soil Association and Sustain helping establish CSAs and buying groups.
Ian
The butcher Ian works part time he previously had his own butchers shop and has been a butcher for many years. He can butcher meat to your requirements providing we know by the Wednesday before
He is around Thursday and Friday mornings and always willing to pass on cookery tips!
Ed
In charge of events, sales and marketing. Point of contact for anyone looking to host an event on the farm or interested in catering supply.
Ed was President of the Food Society whilst at Leeds University. He currently writes the food and farming column for our local paper.
Sam
Helps on the markets and on Saturdays in the shop ably assisted by his dog Fly.
Fiona
Helps with markets and marketing, wide experience in catering, the contact for restaurants looking to use our products.
Pete
Volunteered 15 years ago and not managed to escape! He feeds the pigs on market days, has a never ending list of maintenance jobs along with driving about jobs such as feed collection.
Dianne
Veg CSA member and volunteer who helps in the garden most Thursdays and Fridays.
