Our Beef
Our organic cattle are Aberdeen Angus and Herefords, the cows calve in spring to make the best use of the spring grass and summer sun, the cows graze all year on our parkland and marsh pastures which contain a wide variety of grasses and herbs.
In winter cattle are fed silage made on the farm, in very wet winters they may be housed to avoid damage to the land.
Because they are only fed forage they grow and mature slowly over two and a half years to give excellent quality beef, they are slaughtered at an organic abattoir and we then hang them for 3 weeks before butchering them on the farm.
We produce all our own burgers which are gluten free, the only additives are seasonings and our home grown organic onions. Beef sausages can be produced packed in sheep casings for those who do not wish to eat pork products.
Please note as our products don't come off a conveyor belt and are butchered by hand we can't guarantee an exact pack weight so the pack size and price may vary by a few grams/pence from below. If there's an exact or minimum weight you require please make sure to specify when ordering. |
